Oftentimes, people set out to accomplish their dreams, but they face a setback or disappointment, and then they feel like their time has passed. But let me tell you today, no matter where you’ve come from, no matter what’s happened in your past, God wants to make you new. He wants to give you a fresh start. If you feel like you’ve missed opportunities in your life, if you feel like your time has passed, remember, today is a new day. You are a new person, and God has new opportunities in store for you. Lift up your eyes of faith and look forward to the new thing God has for you in this New Year!"
Hip Hop blogger, Karen Civil from www.karencivil.com posted this on Tumblr at the beginning of the New Year. I "liked" it because it really spoke to my personal situation. She speaks on God, which is an inspiration for a lot of people during their struggles, but even if you aren't particularly religious you can still be motivated by this post as I was. Basically, what she is saying is never give up! Sometimes we face hardships or even multiple hardships that seem to be signs from the universe that something wasn't meant to happen, but in this new year every one gets to start fresh. In fact, every day is a new day that we should allow ourselves to start fresh and try again. No matter what happens to you, know that this is your journey and you control your destiny. Whatever setbacks you face, only you can decide how much you let it affect you and what you can do to bounce back.
